50 Songs per Year

I set myself a goal to write and record 50 songs this year. That would be pretty cool to do while holding down a day job and helping to raise a family. I want to go work on a song now but I have a cold and should get some sleep. I actually sung myself hoarse (rhymes with “hung like a horse”) last night while working on Lonely Old Crow. I’ll jot down a few thoughts as a way to keep making progress.

Where am I at with things so far?

Let’s count them up:

  1. I don’t want to go back
  2. Isabella’s New Year’s Jazz Tune
  3. Rose (this counts for half because it is Genevieve singing lyrics of love to the music of I don’t want to go back)
  4. Parading Pachyderms (Make a Decision)
  5. Useless People
  6. Geek Song
  7. Code Faster
  8. Groovatronistic
  9. Lonely Old Crow

Wow! I feel better – I’m not as far off as I thought I was. This is the 10th week of the year so if I can do another song this week, I’m on track. To quote Mighty Mike, Lead Singer and Guitar Stylist of the Bad Pixels, “Sweet!”
