A look at the Speakeasy Calendar

I found an old journal that I used for a co-op term in college. Other than the work notes, I kept some notes on what the band was up to. The band was Speakeasy and this was a pretty good time in our lives.

You can see how busy we kept:

  • Band practices together
  • Gig
  • Other band event

I think that my journal is not totally accurate since October is sparse and without gigs and December seems light on practicing. Looking back, I wish we kept a bit better record of what we were up to but I guess we never thought we would get old 😉

my shrinking beach music completed
<<this was my opus – a very intense and complicated song to play because of all the parts, this was accenutated by the song only being a couple minutes long so you had to stay on your toes – not a lot of time to get comfortable. Mys Shrinking Beach is on the Speakeasy Myspace Page.>>

[2]

get mindbox covers made – they are cool
<<mindbox was our second full length tape>>

[3]

gig with vicious circle and black ice at the marquee
<<vicious circle changed their name to Viciousphere and Big Rob, the bass player, took over for me in Anything You Want when I blew my arm out. I don’t know why they don’t have an official site – it looks like Rob has posted some songs of a later line-up>>
